Michigan Wins in 3 OT 67-65

We Like This!  Wolverines celebrate a thrilling victory.

The last time there were as many points in a Michigan game was 131 years ago.  We have Illinois to thank for this.  A little quick figuring and that means it was only 42 years after Michigan became a State.  (Granted, since The University of Michigan is actually 20 years older than the state itself, it means that was in its 62nd year.)  But we can take credit for a completely exciting afternoon of college football and savor the 6th victory of the season making Michigan bowl eligible again.

It is going to sound a bit strange, but we have to credit the Defense for this win.  They actually played a good game - despite the fact that they gave up 65 points and endured 5 Michigan turnovers - and they deserve a lot of credit for a couple of stops, too.  This would also be the 96th time Michigan has scored 50 points or more in a game.  (Source: College Football Data Warehouse)

Despite an embarassing first snap fumble which led to an Illini touchdown, we have to give a lot of credit again to Tate Forcier, who threw some pinpoint passes and pulled out the 2 point conversion in the end.

FYI - Michigan can do no worse than .500 for the season now.  This is something we would like to avoid, since the Wolverines have only suffered .500 or lower seasons 16 times in history (thus far).
