What It Means to be a Wolverine

Maine 'n Blue Rally in OT to win 75-72 over Iowa

Freshman guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (Miami, Fla./Palmetto Senior) scored a career-high 30 points, sophomore guard Darius Morris (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward) had 20 and redshirt freshman forward Jordan Morgan (Detroit, Mich./University of Detroit Jesuit) netted 18 as the University of Michigan men's basketball team overcame a 10-point second-half deficit to claim a 75-72 overtime victory at Iowa on Saturday afternoon.
What we seem to forget over time, is that intramural sports are just a diversion and a spirited jostle between agreeable opponents who take the contest in the highest spirits of collegiate pride.  But no - we have to align our allegiance to either "evil" or "good" and condemn the opposition (unrighteously) to a second-class existence while elevating our chosen to Roman-God status.  How simple and how infantile.

However, if you watched the basketball game Saturday afternoon from Iowa you saw the extremes at both ends of the court and you cannot deny witnessing the guts and dedication that comprise the spirit of a Michigan Wolverine.  It makes you proud.

GO BLUE!!  GO CUBS' AC!!

I told them, “If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it.” So they paid me thirty pieces of silver.
