| Miguel Carbrera walks back to the dugout in the 2nd inning after being struck out by Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers. Kershaw got a hit and he did not!! |
As much as we saw most of this year up until now was all the bad financial news and turmoil in Los Angeles over their beloved baseball club, the Dodgers. Across the country people were starting to feel sorry for them. Not anymore.......
The Tigers were just plain whipped Monday night by these LA Dodgers, getting only 2 hits and slinking back to the dugout with their tails between their legs. Clocks cleaned. You can't say enough about the performance of Clayton Kershaw except, "Wow!"
Brad Penny was not that bad on the mound for Detroit, really, but with no hit and run support the gruesome reality is still there.
Detroit missed a chance to slip into a tie for 1st place while Cleveland was thumped by Colorado.
With 2 more wins this west coast trip can break even before the Tigers come home to entertain Arizona and we have a big Sunday retiring No. 11 for Sparky at Comerica. We'll try to stiffen up a bit and come back Tuesday night for the second of this series in LA, and we'll be here at CUBS' AC taking it in on the big screens.
