We saw some guts in the 6th inning. It was tense and we knew it. But look at Jim Leyland. He looked as calm as ever. He was staring Fate in the eye. Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na.
We wished for the Spirit of Mickey Lolich and we got it. Many of you younger readers may not know this: Mickey Lolich was the 1968 World Series MVP because he allowed just 5 runs in 3 games and that propelled the Detroit Tigers from a 3-1 deficit to beat Cy Young winner Bob Gibson and the St. Louis Cardinals.
