That's not fair to say, really.  We are ALL smiling.  We just did not have to foot the bill.  But Boston paid.  Oh Boy.

The Detroit Tigers played a gem on the national stage Saturday and the TV viewers got an early Easter treat.  Ten total unanswered runs and a whopping 5 'Taters' on the way to 12 hits of error-free play.  Boston committed two grievous fouls.  

Boston stunk, frankly.  Rather, Josh Beckett did.  He went barely 5 innings after this past pre-season where he only gave up a total of 7 hits.  The Red Sox came dressed to play looking like their Buds the Bruins with stubby beards and all.  But they had no idea who the Tigers have become this year.

Ken Rosenthal writes,"Beckett, who did not allow a homer and had a 0.95 ERA in 19 innings during spring training, deserves the benefit of the doubt; maybe he just had a bad day against the wrong club."  I say that is an understatement.  Josh Beckett's ERA is now 13.50.

We've got work to do, yet.  Brennan Boesch is batting .000 so far and though Miguel Cabrera had 2 home runs yesterday, he went 2 for 5 and is only hitting .333(!!)  The Tigers go for the sweep on Sunday and if you are finished hunting eggs and eating Hasenpfeffer join us at CUBS' A.C. while we watch the finale on the big screens.

We're not complaining, however.
