Tigers Dim The Halos

Fister and Tigers Dump Angels 7-2
Delmon Young continues on his mini power streak by breaking open
the scoring in the first inning for Detroit.  He scores Cabrera on a 2-out single.
That's a comeback from a disaster if we ever saw one before.  Doug Fister had his second consecutive quality outing and stumped the powerful LA Angels batting lineup with 10 strikeouts and gave up only 2 hits in 8 innings. Lucky for them that the Texas Rangers also lost and they did not lose any ground in the AL West.
What's the matter with you, boy?
Detroit, on the other hand, inches closer to the top of the AL Central as the White Sox were handily beaten by Boston to bring the Tigers to only 2½ games out of first place.  You can rightfully credit Doug Fister with a tremendous outing, or, you might follow along with the Angels' whining about the poor outing of their 9-6 "All Star" starter C.J. Wilson who got pummeled with his worst showing this season.
Doug Fister is back in form at the right time
of the season to be a steady starter.
Either way - this new Detroit batting lineup is showing some productive output - not only against LA - and the Tigers don't seem to waste too many men on base like they did at the beginning this year.  Scoring opportunities that were squandered before now turn into runs in the plus column.  The middle of the lineup and even the bottom ⅓ of the order have picked up the pace and it is showing.

We hope you are keeping cool these days.  (Here is some advice if you care.)  This weather has taken its toll on many but here at CUBS' AC & Colonial Lanes the air conditioners are ON and we are keeping the beer frosty cold in the coolers.  Grab a few!

It's COOL at CUBS' AC!

Join us at CUBS' AC Thursday afternoon and we'll see if Detroit can keep this momentum and take the series from the Angels in this series of 4 games.  Watch the game on the big screens while chowing down on some of our Turkey Reuben Wraps!!

 GO TIGERS!
