Tigers Drop to Two Back

Rick Porcello has not gotten a lot of Love this year.  On Sunday
the Cleveland Indians rallied to win.

The Tigers are going to really have to buckle down, now.  Even if they can't win every game.  There is something about "crunch time" that makes it seem more important.  Sunday at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Detroit was reaching for the sweep to keep even with an angle on 1st place - but Fate was not tilted our way.

Miguel Cabrera hit his 38th home run - a 3-run shot - but it would
not hold up for the final count.

Let's keep the pressure on the White Sox by grabbing a victory today in Chicago.  It's a day game and the makeup for last Thursday's rain out.  This will be the last time they face this year.

Leyland argues a call by the umpire and gets ejected.

Detroit will face the Royals 7 more times, the Twins 6 more and a crucial 3 game set with the Oakland Athletics.  The last six regular season games are on the road.  

Alex Avila is led off the playing field after
a collision with Prince Fielder.

There are 17 games left to play and the Tigers have to win the AL Central in order to make the postseason because Tampa, Baltimore and New York in the East have better W-L records and the Oakland Athletics and the L.A. Angels are well ahead of us in the American League West.
