~ Verlander Mows Down 11 ~
The Detroit Tigers are Our Heroes. Led by a Sheriff named Justin Verlander. Once holding a 2-game series lead they stood in the face of a winner-take-all game Thursday night in Oakland and made it look easy by whipping the rowdy A's 6-0. Now it's on to the American League Championship Series this Saturday.
The game was a gem. The 2011 Cy Young winner and league MVP took total control of the night and did not allow a melt down as happened in the previous game. The "Buck Stopped Here" in Oakland - the bubbly (sparkling fruit juice) was flowing all over those curls and highlights of Prince Fielder's mane in the locker room. These Tigers don't have much time to get ready for the next series of games, however, in this - their magical pennant run. It must be.
We did not give up! The Oakland Athletics were on a tear, but the Tigers were also due and showed that they truly can be Tigers when they want to, after all. It was determination and not giving up that made the difference in the long run. Confidence. Catch It!

Detroit plays the winner of the ALDS decisive game 5 in New York Friday evening - which is also on our HD screens, btw - and we'll learn if we face the Orioles or the Yankees in the best of seven AL Championship this Saturday!
