The Wolverines Still Find The Way 
Against Feisty SDSU Jackrabbits

A lot of attention was placed on containing Trey Burke and the
Michigan Wolverines responded brilliantly.

The Palace was nearly full. And it even had a "home game" atmosphere.   But.........You could not help but feel a little bit apprehensive after the Wolverines bowed out last year in the same feared position in the NCAA Tournament seeding - dropping the game (and several jaws) against a feisty Ohio Bobcats squad.  This time it was Jackrabbits.

Glenn Robinson III stepped up and began dropping baskets like flies.
He finished 8 of 9 from the field and a perfect 3-3 in 3's.

While Trey Burke was having a less than glorious time in the first half, the slack (and several assists) went to the rest of the Michigan team who showed that the Wolverines are not a one trick pony after all.  Glenn Robinson III, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Mitch McGary combined for a field goal percentage of 44.2% - well below that of the South Dakota State Jackrabbits at 51% overall.  Michigan had a strategy to focus on their star, too.  It paid off nicely.

Tim Hardaway scored 21 points and had 5 3-pointers.  But the defense was what kept the SDSU demons in check.  South Dakota was known out west for their searing 3-point success rate.  Michigan strained that out of their strategy early, and finished with a 15 point victory 71-56.  It's back to Auburn Hills Saturday at 12:15pm when Michigan takes on 5th seed Virginia Commonwealth at the Palace.
