Tigers Blast Athletics Again

Anibal Sanchez settles down and gets his 2nd win behind great
hitting from the entire Tigers lineup on Sunday.

The Athletics win streak screamed to a halt on Saturday - but the Tigers were not done putting the icing on their cake come Sunday's showdown for the finale to this series.  Detroit starter Anibal Sanchez had another beautiful outing and went 7 innings of 3 hit ball, giving up only 1 run and 4 walks while striking out 8, improving to 2-0 for the year.

Austin Jackson went 4-for 6 on Sunday.

Detroit proceeded to "poke the eyes out" of the Athletics and the Oakland Faithful by literally slaughtering the team 10-1 on Sunday in the rubber game to come away with their third consecutive 2-1 series win, and their 3rd victory in 4 games.

Torii Hunter continues his clutch hitting as he slides safely
into 3rd base for a  triple in the 6th inning.

Austin Jackson went 3-for-6 and continues his torrid 'On Base Percentage' having launched a 2-run home run in the 2nd inning. Torii Hunter collected three more hits -- including two doubles and a triple -- to grab another Detroit RBI and two runs scored, while Miguel Cabrera added another pair of RBI's for the Tigers, who improved to 7-5 on the season.  Detroit mined 14 hits on the day and 10 were RBI's!

Andy Dirks chimed in with an RBI as well to put the
Tigers up 8-0 in the 4th inning.

Overall - A fun game to see while we were watching sleet outside of own windows in Ann Arbor, eh?
