Ouch. Rick Porcello did not escape with a no decision this time. He and the Tigers were pasted Tuesday night. The New York Mets who had been sub-.500 almost all season got a monkey off of their backs and blasted TWO Grand Slams to win this one in style 14-3.
The joke is on Detroit, now.
The Boo Birds are not coming out, just yet. But the great joy of the last two days at Comerica Park evaporated quickly as the Mets put on a hitting clinic and 2 of their players reached base 5 times apiece.
Hopefully this was just a hiccup. We'll find out Wednesday evening as these two meet again and we hope you join us at CUBS' AC as we watch it on the big screens and we dig into a generous portion of good old spaghetti and meatballs........
