Normally you are feeling pretty good when you have 6 runs already in the 4th inning. That is until you realize the other team has 9.
Add to that a couple of knucklehead errors and you gave away the game. The Tigers lost their chance to takeover 1st place in the standings while the Indians lost a close one at home to Toronto. The Royals pitching has been looking pretty good against the potent Tiger bats - the relievers shut down Detroit completely after the 4th inning. KC has an enviable pitching squad this year. Especially the bullpen.
Not to mention that the top 4 batters in the Royals lineup cracked five 2-out RBIs and sent the ball out on a 3 run homer, to boot.
Justin Verlander is on the mound Sunday afternoon to try and take this series from the Royals. He faces Jeff Francis who is 3-9 and fresh from Colorado to Kansas City this year. Game time is 2:10 and we'll all be at CUBS' AC watching the game on the big screens while finishing off that plate of succulent ribs we could not finish last night....
