Tigers are Impressive - Beat Oakland 8-3

Kurt Suzuki and avoided the tag to score all the way from 1st base.

Into Comerica Park in Detroit comes the heat and humidity and also the American League's best team ERA a/k/a the Oakland Athletics.  But Rick Porcello, Carlos Guillen and a 3-hit outing by Brennan Boesch took care of that Tuesday night.

A decent performance by Oakland's Moscoso (who was actually at one time on the Tiger's books) was outshone by the Tigers both offensively, defensively and with gutty base running, no less.

Rick Porcello was tapped for a couple of RBI's by Matsui but came away with his ninth win in the sweltering 90° plus heat.

Despite errors by Cabrera and, ho-hum, Inge (again) Detroit came back from a 3-1 deficit to score 6 runs in the 5th inning and send the Oakland Athletics deeper down in the AL West with Seattle.


These two tie it up again Wednesday night to complete a short series and we'll all be at CUBS' AC watching it on the big screens while enjoying Sweet Baby Ray's^® Chicken Salad sitting in air conditioned comfort.
