Boesch Beats Tampa Bay for His Birthday Present

Brennan Boesch had a 27th birthday party of his own by going 2-for-4
with 4 RBI's and both hits being with 2 outs.   Auld Lang Syne?

After a somewhat drab and downer of a game Wednesday against these Rays, Brennan Boesch single handedly picked the team back up again and entertained his teammates and the rest of the Tiger Faithful to a smashing Birthday Party.

And new Tiger starting pitcher Drew Smyly got shaken a bit early but set it straight by going four-plus innings and striking out 4 while giving up only 1 run and 3 walks in his debut.

Andy Dirks and Alex Avila were notable contributors to the 7-2 victory by going 2-for-4 each with RBI's.  It was not hard to see that the bottom third of the batting order did all of the hard work!

But you know what today is.  Friday the 13th.  And the Tigers are in Chicago.  We'll have it on the big screens at CUBS' AC this afternoon so you won't have to risk anything.....See 'Ya!
