Cleveland Bumps Detroit Lower 4-2
| Jhonny Peralta makes the tag at second base on Choo. It was the only bright spot of the evening. |
This is the first time the Tigers have been 5 games under .500 since May 2nd last year, and that was the lowest point of the season. Beyond that, you'll have to go all the way back to September 24, 2008 to get any lower. (They were 15 games under)
So this is a 4-year-low.
Ahem. Clear your throats, please.
That season of 2008 was when the Detroit Tigers ended up dead last in the division at 74-88. They never occupied 1st place that year.
The turnaround better commence pretty soon, boys.
Detroit matched Cleveland Tuesday night with 7 hits. But they could not overcome three RBI triples by the Indians and even a good performance by Smyly cannot better a lackluster batting squad that is almost the most expensive in the major leagues.
And we've got a new face in left field. Matt Young. He went 0-4 and all of them were strikeouts. Makes you miss Ryan Raburn, doesn't it?!? How about Brandon Inge?!?
Are we getting restless? You bet. Join us Wednesday night to see if the Tigers can reach another losing record by dropping 3-in-a-row. At least the beer is cold. It's on the big screens at CUBS' A.C. See 'Ya!
GO TIGERS!
