~ Can Pablo Beat Detroit?~
Pablo Sandoval Sinks Verlander
~ Giants Win Game One ~
It's was hard to believe. But not anymore. The odds were initially on Detroit to take the World Series regardless of who they faced. But then came "Panda Bear" Pablo Sandoval. The Giants romped in game one 8-3 and took out our Ace in the process.
Come Thursday night we hope we see a different story. Doug Fister will be on the mound and his personal dream of being in a World Series will become reality. If his intensity and focus are in the right place, he'll bring hope to the Tigers Fans who have enjoyed a quick rise up to glory - only to be brought back down by San Francisco's seemingly unending surge of wizardry they have displayed this postseason. Jim Leyland said, "I think momentum is your next day's pitcher."
The Tigers managed 8 hits but only 3 runs Wednesday night. Tim Linecum was sharp while striking out 5 Tigers in mid-relief following starter Barry Zito who was a magician with his mix of pitches keeping the heavy Detroit hardware largely quiet. Pablo Sandoval's 3 home runs were the story, though.
But wait!!
Most of us around here have something else on our minds, too - it's The Michigan Wolverines and this Saturday they show us what they can do to Nebraska. GO BLUE!!

Detroit has a job to do in the World Series, and if you are not lucky enough to be down there at Comerica when they return here Saturday - be assured it will be on our HD screens.
