Game Two Letdown

Game Two Blues
The Detroit Tigers were sleeping in game two the World Series.

Tigers Coming Home Empty
~ Giants Up 2 Games to None ~
A missed catch and a risk of injury for Prince Fielder.
The odds were initially on Detroit to take the World Series regardless of who they faced.  But then came "Panda Bear" Pablo Sandoval and this incredibly "lucky" San Francisco Giants team.
Is it more the luck of the Giants or the curse of the Tigers?
Thursday night we saw how pitiful things can be.  Waiting for a bunt to go foul was just about a proper way to sum it all up.  Doug Fister was very good, giving up only 1 run and 4 hits - but that does not win ball games when your whole team can manage only 2 hits.  And from somewhat of a suspect pitching crew, to boot.
The Tigers spirits were beginning to wane in the 8th inning.
The Tigers managed 2 hits.  Total.  They hit some balls pretty hard, but those were scooped up by a ravenous Giants defense.  Omar Infante had a single and Delmon Young a double, but that was it for Detroit.  Austin Jackson, Prince Fielder and Triple Crown Winner Miguel Cabrera went zero-for-all.
Don't look now - the Giants are coming to town.
A bunch of guys who largely resemble ZZ Top are making our Tiger Heroes look pretty sad right now.  They even sent the family members of players onto the field in AT&T Park (formerly Candlestick Park) after the game Thursday because this just might be the last game played there this year.  Oh my.

But wait!!

Most of us around here have something else on our minds, too - it's  The Michigan Wolverines and this Saturday they show us what they can do to Nebraska.  GO BLUE!!
