The Detroit Tigers are sleeping in the World Series.

Tigers Stay Empty at Home
~ Giants Up 3 Games to None ~

Quintin Berry watched his hit fade foul.  This is how the whole
team must feel at this point.  Fading away.

As the story goes, sometimes the fox - as clever and cunning and well prepared as possible - raids the hen house, pounces on a victim and only comes up with a mouthful of feathers and no meat.

We may have decided to get out in the afternoon and enjoy one of the last pleasant days of the year on Saturday, but, we were saving up energy for two sporting events in the evening.  As it turns out - we should have gone for a long walk.  Very long.  With a mouthful.

And then - Saturday night we saw how pitiful things can be.  Anibal Sanchez was throwing another decent effort at the Giants.  But sadly, he got no support from the 9 stranded Detroit runners that were on base.  Including one time with the bases loaded and only one out.  Feathers.  Ptoouie.

A competitve guy?  Denard Robinson is down after attempting to
score in the 2nd quarter with Michigan down 7-3.

The Wolverines - on the other hand - were over in Lincoln, Nebraska laying themselves out like golden fried drumsticks on the picnic table.  That does not sound right.  Wolverines are not quitters.  They actually fought.  But they now have gone two games without scoring a touchdown.  Feathers.

The Tigers managed 5 hits.  Total.  Finally Austin Jackson got a hit and do did Miguel Cabrera.  Alex Avila contributed as did Omar Infante who hit 2 by himself.  Prince Fielder went zero-for-all.  Again.  But the worst thing was leaving men on base and not getting anybody home to score.  Sound familiar?

Romo picked up his 2nd World Series save.

The guys appearing like ZZ Top are now on the cusp of a history-making World Series sweep after shutting out the Tigers two times in-a-row.  They had sent the family members of players onto the field in AT&T Park (formerly Candlestick Park) game two because they thought it could be the last game played there this year.

They got the chicken.

Most of us around here have something else on our minds, too - it's  The Michigan Wolverines and we hope next Saturday they show us what they can do to the Golden Gophers.  GO BLUE!!
