Which Way Did They Go?

Wolverines Go Missing
In 2nd Half at Ohio

Jeremy Gallon has been the Wolverines best receiver this year,
but he misses this one that was right in his hands.
The Michigan Wolverines looked like two different teams between each half in Columbus.  The "double threat" of Denard Robinson - Devin Gardner was very effective in the first 2 quarters, but they never made the tandem work in the last 2.  Despite several turnovers the Buckeyes made in simple ball snaps from center, the game that was working well in the opening frames seemed to disappear - a sign that the Al Borges strategy was not very good after the break.  Even OSU quarterback Braxton Miller had a fantastic day passing against the vaunted Michigan defense.
The Buckeyes played fierce defense, and attacked the ball at every
opportunity.  The strategy paid off for them here as Denard Robinson fumbles
after a crucial gain that may have turned the game around.
Whereas Michigan got a couple of good breaks and good chances to score which were halted by turnovers, the real problem was that the Wolverines could not produce a third down conversion run up through the middle against a stiff Buckeye defensive front - which again told us more about the offensive coaching than anything else.
Denard Robinson was the man to beat.  The team
has 11 players on each side, though.
There is no reason to hang our heads, even though we lost twice as many regular season games as last year!  But fret not - there is a little bit of football left to play as we wait until Dec. 2nd to see how all of the NCAA football conference championships play out and see what we get for our bowl invitation.  Hopefully the Maize 'n Blue get another a New Year's Day Game!
