| The tip-off at the Georgia Dome Saturday night in Atlanta. |
What does your bracket look like? As pretty as this one?
The description "remarkable" does not cover it anymore. We've got to step it up a notch and call it Marvelous. Again on Saturday evening in the NCAA National Basketball Semi-Finals the Michigan Wolverines provided even more "Marvelous Amaizin' Magic." It was all on the court at the Atlanta Georgia Dome in front of a national TV audience and a crowd of 75,350 March Mad Zombies.

Even though we saw Freshman Nik Stauskas blanked and Trey "Superman" Burke broken down to only 7 total points - the Michigan Wolverines went ahead with the mission - Coach John Beilein giving the reserves 34 minutes themselves (thankfully).

Spike Albrecht saw action again and had two 3-pointers of his own. Tim Hardaway, Jr. had a game high 13 points - Mitch McGary (12 rebounds - 10 points) was the "super glue" inside. Jon Horford and Jordan Morgan emerged each scoring 4 points. Even Caris LeVert had 8 points with two 3-pointers. The whole team
got into this one.
The first half saw several lead changes. Michigan held the lead by 11 at the break - a 36-25 halftime score. Syracuse stole the ball 7 times to Michigan's 5, but the Wolverines controlled the boards thanks to Mitch McGary and out-rebounded the Orange 37-33 despite their height advantage and experience.

This game overall was mostly in Michigan's control, and seven different Wolverines had points in the first half. Lots of people are making references to The Fab Five, but the truth is that this team is forging a legacy of its own.
| John Beilein and AD Dave Brandon share some pride after the win. |
While Trey Burke suffered low numbers, he still had 4 assists, 5 rebounds and led most of the offensive attacks. His Wolverine teammates picked up the slack and showed just how much this team - this very team - has gelled and matured. Michigan finally returns to the Finals after 20 years.

There is a legend in the making at this year's tournament. We'll call him "The Vanilla Gorilla." Mitch McGary has created a cult following mostly consisting of national network sports writers!
