Justin Verlander is not perfect after all. But remember what I said about the Bobbleheads Curse? This past weekend we had the "Super Verlander Capes" and the same thing happened. The curse of the souvenirs strikes again. Open Mouth - Insert Foot.
Give credit to Angels pitcher Dan Haren for this one, however. He stymied Cabrera and Martinez for the second night in-a-row and only gave up 2 hits on his way to his 13th complete game. The Tigers have a way of stumbling on their own even when they are not facing a quality guy and Tuesday was no exception.
Verlander lost for the first time in 12 starts. Back down to earth we go again. Detroit is doing the same "dive" it does every year.
We'll keep our fingers crossed that chance just had its way this time. The Tigers and Angels go at it again and we are going to be savoring Angela's Egg Salad Sandwich at CUBS' AC Wednesday afternoon while watching the game on the big screens.
