Raburn Powers Tiger Comeback
| Ryan Raburn is a puzzle - batting .155 and still a hero. |
Those of us who admired Brandon Inge for so many years and even got a bit 'fuzzy' when he made the headlines last week are also scratching our heads about Ryan Raburn.
But he did it again yesterday. He was the Hero. Raburn sparked the Detroit comeback and they beat those darned White Sox 10-8.
Detroit looked pretty much flat all around - Konerko was popping all over the Tigers (he holds the records for the most hits against Detroit in the majors) and our beloved 'woods section'* was sputtering and not getting people in to score. It was 6-0 Chicago going into the 6th inning.
And then......"ZAPPP "

The Tigers split the short series with Chicago (though they should have swept) and came home last night to Comerica Park, where they will entertain the unlikely cellar-dweller of the AL Central Division - Minnesota (of all people) - tonight.
If you are not going downtown you probably already know we will have it on the big screens. We'll have a bigger variety of your favorite barley-malted beverage, too. A lot bigger.
GO TIGERS
*The woods section in a band or orchestra generally consists of those reeded instruments typically made of wood, like the clarinets, oboes and bassoons - but also can include the flutes and bagpipes if you've got 'em.
